Vision, Mission & Objectives

Vision

Anyone interested in engaging in deeper conversations about the way business operates and how it can be changed so it can bring about a positive future for the entire world has a place where they can engage in dialogue with like-minded peers and experts, be these connections in-person or through the Internet.

Mission

To make meaningful conversations about "matters that matter" in business and organizational life available to everyone who wants to participate in them, regardless of where they live and work.

Major Objectives

In order to achieve the Mission (above), the three major objectives of The Presidio Dialogues will be to provide opportunities for business people to:

  1. attend meetings and engage in face-to-face conversations anywhere in the world; this will include supporting the start-up of local groups wherever there is interest;
  2. engage in online conversations with people all over the world; this will require building and maintaining Internet technologies to make this possible;
  3. people who do not have geographic access to meetings are able to watch and/or listen to face-to-face dialogues, either live or through audio and video recordings; this will allow people who do not have a "live" group nearby to participate in these conversations.

  1. Face-to-face Conversations: There are regular meetings all over the world, wherever a handful of people want to start them. While patterned after the original meetings in San Francisco, these satellite events may vary in frequency, attendance and hosting style. What they will be consistent throughout (the “brand”) and will be possess the business/consciousness theme, the mix of guest presenters and participatory audiences, and feature lightly-facilitated dialogue.

  2. Online Conversations: For people who do not have gatherings in their region, they can participate in facilitated online discussions through the Dialogues Website, in virtual conversations.

  3. People who do not have geographic access to meetings: Parties may download video and audio recordings of actual gatherings which will be stored and available "on demand" at The Presidio Dialogues Web site. Eventually, ‘same time’ video broadcasts can be watched and listened to, with eventual long distance/same time participation becoming possible.
    These last two means of participation assumes that these people have access to the Internet, a reasonable assumption for people in the business community (our audience).
